Phantom Rain

Phantom Rain previously had an online store built on Wix, but the site was poorly organized and difficult to navigate. Even as an experienced Wix developer, it was challenging to find the correct accessories for a specific drone, highlighting the need for a full rebuild focused on usability and clarity.

We redesigned Phantom Rain’s website from the ground up using Wix Studio, restructuring the store around clear Drone Models, Color Variants, and standardized SKU numbering. This allows customers to quickly identify compatible accessories for their exact drone, improving confidence and reducing ordering errors. We also integrated the online store with the Shippo platform, allowing orders placed on the website to automatically synchronize with Shippo. This transfers the Order Number, Product SKU, Packing List, and Product Weight information, enabling the client to generate and print accurate shipping labels with minimal effort.

One of the most impactful upgrades was the addition of Product Videos on every product page—a feature not natively supported by Wix. Using custom JavaScript (Wix Velo) and the Wix Content Management System (CMS), we built a system that dynamically pulls product videos from the CMS and displays them automatically on each product page. If a product has associated videos, they appear seamlessly; if not, the section remains hidden. This keeps pages clean while providing customers with valuable visual context when available.

The entire site was designed to be CMS-driven, allowing Phantom Rain’s owner to manage products, videos, galleries, and future content updates without needing to access the Wix Studio Editor. Most updates can be completed in seconds by simply editing data or checking a box in the CMS.

Since relaunching in March 2025, Phantom Rain has generated over $31,000 in online sales, supported by a system that requires minimal ongoing maintenance. This project demonstrates how thoughtful architecture and automation can turn an online store into a scalable, easy-to-manage sales platform.
