Chickenbutt Donuts previously operated with a simple, single-page website that was built in-house. While functional, it lacked the structure, automation, and flexibility needed to support growing demand and efficient day-to-day operations. To address this, the website was redesigned and rebuilt on the Wix platform with extensive Content Management System (CMS) integration and custom automation — focused on reliability, scalability, and ease of use for both customers and staff.

The new website integrates Chickenbutt Donuts’ full menu and enables customers to place online pickup orders directly through the site. Once an order is submitted, the system immediately notifies the shop and automatically sends order details to a dedicated receipt printer using an email-to-print workflow, allowing orders to print automatically without manual intervention. This minimizes overhead while ensuring orders are received clearly and consistently during busy periods.

In-store staff can manage orders using a laptop or tablet, update order statuses as items are prepared, and keep production flowing smoothly. Customers can track their orders in real time through a dedicated Order Tracking page, reducing uncertainty and follow-up calls during peak hours.

To support menu flexibility, the website uses CMS to manage the Build Your Own Box Toppings system. Each topping entry includes a photo of the donut, the donut name, and a complete ingredient list, all automatically sorted in alphabetical order for consistency and clarity. This same CMS data is also used to dynamically populate the hero section photo collage on the homepage, where donut images are interspersed between the “Hand-crafted, Delicious Donuts” text — ensuring visual content stays accurate without manual design updates.

In addition, a separate CMS data link paired with custom Wix Velo (JavaScript) code allows Chickenbutt Donuts’ business hours to be updated across the entire website within seconds. Hours can be modified directly from the backend — including from a mobile device using the Wix app — ensuring customers always see accurate information during holidays, special hours, or unexpected changes.

This fully integrated system significantly improved Chickenbutt Donuts’ ability to handle online demand while maintaining a smooth, predictable in-store workflow. Since relaunching the website, the online ordering system has performed reliably under real-world conditions and has generated over $92,000 in online sales revenue to date.

The result is a stable, intuitive platform that has been in continuous use since 2023, minimizes ongoing support needs, adapts easily to change, and allows Chickenbutt Donuts to focus on their craft — while the technology works quietly in the background.
